India intends to purchase 29 Russian fighters.

The government of India plans to buy Russian deck-fighters MiG-29K in the number of 29 pieces. The head of the delegation FGUP Oboroneksport “Michael debris said this at the air show “Dubai Airshow 2009″. Earlier in 2004 a contract was signed about the sale of 16 MiG-29K fighters to India in the framework of agreements on modernization and delivery of cruiser “Admiral Gorshkov”. It is expected that India will get first four machines in late November 2009. Before commissioning of the cruiser “Vikramaditya” (exactly under this name the cruiser “Admiral Gorshkov” will be placed at the disposal of the Indian Navy) Russian fighter aircraft will be temporary stationed at the naval base in Goa.
